Join and learn in ImageGrafix Wednesday Webinars about CAESAR-II ASME B31J, the improved method for i & k calculation

In this Webinar you will learn:

1. Improve SIF(i) & Flexbility factor (k) with “More Applicable Data” calculated from ASME B 31J  over  Appendix D
2.Revised I & k  data which will enable pipe stress engineers to have total confidence that a given design is carried out in accordance with the intent of the code using the latest, fully tested and approved more ‘accurate’ data, without unnecessary over or under conservatism
3. Better and ‘more applicable data’ helps to ensure cost effective, safer systems, fewer or zero failures whilst facilitating a more efficient project workflow with fewer unnecessary system changes (i.e. to resolve problems which don’t exist in practice)

Intergraph® CADWorx® webinar to demonstrate configuring ISOGEN with drawing setup

Intergraph® CADWorx® webinar December 11th to demonstrate configuring  ISOGEN with drawing setup

HOUSTON, Texas, December 4, 2014 – Intergraph is hosting a webinar on December 11, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. CT that will demonstrate configuring ISOGEN with drawing setup. ISOGEN, the industry-standard software that comes with CADWorx Plant Professional, provides for the automatic production of piping isometric drawings to help streamline and save time. The webinar will demonstrate how the drawing setup tool in I-Configure allows users to easily create and modify drawing templates and configure company-standard backing sheets, all within one seamless environment. With the setup tool, the user can overlay and position the location of key items such as bills of material, welding reports and project data, customizing the project-specific backing sheet. The webinar leader will be Sonia Delgadillo, senior CADWorx applications specialist for the CADWorx Plant Design Suite.

1) How to create piping plan from CADWorx model? (Ground floor, at elevation 4m, 8m & 12m like this)

2D plan and elevations are generated using the viewbox command in CADWorx. Generally viewbox are created according to your required level and these clips are recreated in the paper space using viewport command. Thus we can slice the entire 3d model in any plane by defining the coordinates in the ” view creation ” window as shown below. Since we create the 2D drawing in the paperspace, any future modifications/revisions updated in the 3d model will be automatically reflected in the 2d drawing.

Use command – Viewbox , This create view box at the required elevation in modelspace.

Use command – Viewport, to define the required view in the paperspace.

2) How we can generate different elevation views from model?

Same as above.

3) In isometric drawing how we can remove weight column?

Weight column can be removed form .MLD file if ISOGEN Project settings.

Alternatively you can use iconfigure application and Run Drawing Setup Tool from Wizard Menu.

4) How we can put half coupling during modelling? (For threaded as well as socket weld half coupling)

Please use drop down from full coupling icon. Make sure that half coupling is available in the piping spec and also allowed in the Branch table

5) If we have line no. 56601-XXX-100-CS602-H50 & from this line we have branch line no. 56602-XXX-50-CS602-H50, at branch connection we are not getting branch/header line no. in isometric generation drawing. How we can get it? (Cross reference line no. is not reflected in isometric drawings)

Please use ISOGEN Batch to get the continuation reference.

6) Flow direction is not properly coming in isometric drawing. (Not visible in isometric drawing)

Use command ISOGENSUPL.

7) How to reduce the line weight of main line in isometric drawing?

Pipeline weights can be customized in the DDF file in Isogen project manager.

8) During isogeneration Line number is coming on block right up. How we can put at our desired position?

9) How we can put different types of pipe supports (shoe support, guide support, anchor support, u-bolt) in model & how we can customize our support directory as per our requirement? (Supports are not proper visible in isometric drawing)

Pipe support can be modeled using pipe support modeler.

Orthogen for CADWorx

Orthogen for CADWorx

 Automatic Orthographics for CADWorx

OrthoGen for CADWorx does for 2D orthographics what Isogen does for 2D isometric generation from 3D models.

Simply define your drawing formats, define your 2D views, and Orthogen automatically creates fully annotated 2D plan, section, elevation and other drawings required for site layout and construction.

The configuration concept is not unlike Isogen’s, although much simpler to work with, and the program comes pre-populated with dozens of common drawing types that require only minor adjustments to achieve your desired drawing styles.

OrthoGen is a third-party application, developed by a company called 3DS, based in Houston, Texas. It is mature software that has been used in Intergraph’s PDS plant design software, as well as the AVEVA PDMS plant design suite. CADWorx is the only AutoCAD-based plant design software that provides Orthogen for automated 2D drawing generation.

Orthogen is currently an add-on application that is purchased separately from CADWorx Plant Professional. Also, there is a legal licensing requirement that all CADWorx Plant Professional licenses at one site be licensed for Orthogen, or none.

OrthoGen® CadWORX is quick to install, easy to use and is seamlessly integrated with AutoCAD and CadWORX. Users have access to numerous tools that help speed up workflows, annotate unlimited viewports and works with Fast/Direct CadWORX DWG xdata for label extractions. Designers and engineers can easily share sync information so models, drawings and databases are updated as changes are made.Integrated with AutoCAD® and CADWorx®
OrthoGen’ s Fast /Direct CADWorx DWG “xdata” interface reads properties directly from DWG files. Using ACAD viewports allows auto annotations to be integrated with 2D embellishment work. Since this is a standard ACAD environment.
OrthoGen integrates with existing user developed commands, details, standards, and block libraries

Operates on native ACAD viewports and xRefs
Viewports can be created with the ACAD “mview” command or created via CADWorx Viewbox command. You can annotate unlimited viewports per layout.
Searches xRefs up to 3 levels deep allowing support of “Master Models” or direct model attachments. Also supports ACAD User Coordinate Systems

Delivered with 40 pre-defined drawing styles (SDI)
User Interface allows the selection of thousands of combinations of options.
These combinations of settings can be saved/loaded from “settings” files.
Production mode interface allows easy enforcement of project standards.

Easy repositioning and rotating of labels

Use ACAD commands to move and rotate labels. These edits are preserved when running updates on the drawing eliminating the need for re-work. Use native ACAD to add additional dimensions, hatching, notes, details, etc.

Automatic column grid references

Create one grid model that will automate the placement of grid labels for ALL drawings on a project. Grid models eliminate “duplicate drafting” and introduction of errors.

Fast, high resolution, white space search algorithms
Generate the “edges” using CADWorx “2D” Rep” command and OrthoGen’s whitespace engine will avoid placing labels on them.

Output formats can be any AutoCAD display style you prefer, incuding Rendered mode:
