Release Announcement of PV Elite 2018 Service Pack 2

Service Pack Release Announcement

Hexagon PPM support has posted PV Elite 2018 Service Pack 2 (20.00.02.0000) for PV Elite Version 2018. This Service Pack is now available for download from Hexagon PPM’s Customer Response System. Further information about what is contained in this Service Pack is available in the Readme File link shown in the download description on the Service Packs and Fixes page.

To access this Service Pack, please follow the steps below:

  1. Logon to Hexagon PPM’s Customer Response System at smartsupport.intergraph.com.
  2. Select the View Downloads tab.
  3. Select PV Elite.
  4. Select Service Packs and Fixes.
  5. Select the download icon or the file link of the Service Pack.

If you have trouble accessing this Service Pack or need further information, please file a Send Request for an analyst to assist.

Expand your analysis capabilities of load conditions in the editor through the use ofload case multipliers. Learn how load case multipliers can extend loading conditions beyond what is specified in the piping input. Load case multipliers can be used to adjust the contribution of any linear load primitive.  Load case multipliers should not be used with non-linear load primitives, such as temperature.

Speaker bio:

Richard Ay is a registered professional engineer who serves as the vice president for analysis products. In 1985, at the request of Tony Paulin, one of the founders of COADE, Ay joined the company, which later became part of Intergraph. He has worked on the development of CAESAR II, TANK, product licensing, QA, technical support procedures, and technical presentations. Ay has previous experience at a major EPC firm and an offshore consulting firm. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Ocean Engineering and a master’s degree in Civil Engineering. Ay is a member of ASCE and ASME.

Speaker Bios:

Aimee Ferguson, P.E., is the product owner for CADWorx Structure, coming to Intergraph in 2008 after a career in Construction Field Engineering. Her background in structural engineering and construction with a large EPC has been leveraged in the development of several Intergraph products, including Smart 3D. Aimee has added agile software development skills to her technical experience and joined the CADWorx Structure team in 2016 in the product owner role to assist in launching and further developing this product. She is a registered Professional Engineer in Kentucky and Alabama.

Michael Smith serves as CADWorx Business Development Manager at Hexagon PPM. He joined the company in 2012 with more than 30 years of experience in the process industries, covering multiple aspects of design, engineering, and construction. Michael previously served as Director of Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) at a prominent mechanical contractor. He oversaw the implementation and use of engineering design tools such as CADWorx in US-based semiconductor plant mega projects. Michael also has experience working within the Autodesk channel as a Revit BIM Specialist.

Nortech Streamlines Plant Design with CADWorx


Nortech was selected to engineer and design a new plant for Jersey Gas company, a liquefied petro gas importer owned by International Energy Group.The new plant was required to operate on demand and cover seasonal differences in energy demand, allowing the existing gas holder to be withdrawn out of service and the associated land to be sold for further development.

Nortech chose CADWorx Plant Professional and Autodesk Navisworks for their familiarity and AutoCAD-based 3D design capabilities. The 3D design began with the creation of piping specifications along with existing, modified, and new piping catalogs. The piping modeling commenced after the creation of the specifications.

CADWorx Plant Professional was also used for the structural, civil, and mechanical design. After this, all the isometric drawings were produced with Isogen, enabling automated isometric creation tailored to Nortech’s needs. Piping support details and generic 3D design were also created. Plus, the 3D design was transferred into a fully dimensional 2D format for fabrication purposes.
