|In CADWorx Plant if design need the Custom or nonstandard Angle elbow, there is an option in Piping rule to Enable the Trimmed Elbow while routing.
Go to CADWorx Plant Setup > Piping Rules > Select pulldown menu in “
By Default, the value would be “No”
Places trimmed buttweld elbows in the drawing when using ROUTE.
No: Does not allow for trimmed buttweld elbows.
Automatic: Router allows for trimmed buttweld elbows.

Hexagon PPM support has posted CADWorxPlant_2017_R1_SP1.zip for CADWorx Plant Version 2017 R1. This Service Pack is now available for download from Hexagon PPM’s Customer Response System. Further information about what is contained in this Service Pack is available in the Readme File link shown in the download description on the Service Packs and Fixes page.
To access this Service Pack, please follow the steps below:
- Logon to Hexagon PPM’s Customer Response System at https://smartsupport.intergraph.com.
- Select the View Downloads tab.
- Select CADWorx Plant.
- Select Service Packs and Fixes.
- Select the download icon or the file link of the Service Pack.

Croatian engineering and analysis specialist Numikon improves productivity 640% with Intergraph CADWorx solutions
“When we first started using the Leica total station and Intergraph software the two companies trained our staff. It took them about ten days to get up to speed and start on their first project. Numikon is a Croatian engineering company specializing in the calculation and analysis of mechanical, power and process equipment and components, project engineering of process and power plants, pipe stress analysis, pressure vessel design, as well as laser scanning and laser surveying.
Numikon executed a refinery project for INA-Industrija nafte d.d., a leading oil exploration, production, refining and marketing company in Croatia. INA was looking for an efficient solution to create as-built information for their Sisak refinery, and hired a consortium of companies for the project. Numikon was chosen to execute a laser scanning survey and create as-built models of the existing refinery.
The main challenge for Numikon was that the laser survey had to be undertaken while the refinery was operating, and some of the piping was difficult to access because of its location above ground, or because it was insulated, as well as the tight deadline of the project.
With the help of CADWorx fieldPipe Professional and CADWorx Plant Professional, Numikon surveyed their part of Sisak refinery in only 49 days. Using the laser surveyed data the company created all deliverables required by INA, including:
• 3D models
• Piping isometrics
• Details of piping components (valves, pressure regulators, flanges, supports, etc.)
• Tag and nameplate details
• Details of the equipment and connected piping
• Pipe stress analysis results (including required test pressure) and pipe data (wall thickness, material properties, etc.)

Total Center of Gravity Generator

Command line: TCG
Calculates center of gravity for all components drawn in X, Y planes (2D plans) or in X, Y, Z planes (3D Model). You can use a generic attach (from Plant > Toolbars > Misc) which provides the center of gravity location and weight. For more information on specifying a center of gravity location for a generic attach, see Generic Attach or Steel – Generic Attachment.
Selection can be done by crossing, window, or selecting individual component.
Total Center of Gravity Calculation Dialog Box
Calculates the total center of gravity for all components.
Select – Enables you to select items to calculate the total center of gravity for that item.
Piping – Enables piping to be calculated for the total center of gravity. Reports the selected component counters in the corresponding box.
Piping Insulation – Enables piping insulation to be calculated for the total center of gravity. Reports the selected component counters in the corresponding box.
Steel – Enables steel to be calculated for the total center of gravity. Reports the selected component counters in the corresponding box.
HVAC – Enables HVAC to be calculated for the total center of gravity. Reports the selected component counters in the corresponding box.
Equipment – Enables equipment to be calculated for the total center of gravity. Reports the selected component counters in the corresponding box.
You must have a material set for the equipment, and then run EQUIPCG before you can get a center of gravity calculation for equipment in CADWorx Plant.
Title – Specifies a title for the report that prints when CG is calculated.
Path – Specifies the location of the report file. Click the Path ellipsis to change the location and save the file.
Print report to command line – Prints the total center of gravity report to the command line.
View Report – Indicates that the software opens the report after the center of gravity calculates.
Insert drawing marker – Inserts a drawing marker for the total center of gravity.
Click C.G. Generator on the Pipe BOM / DB panel in the CADWorx Plant I tab. alternatively, type TCG on the command line and then press ENTER.
- The Total CG Calculation dialog box displays.
- Select the type of components to calculate center of gravity.
- Enter a title for the report in the Title box.
- Select whether you want the report to print on the command line, view the report, or whether you want to insert a marker.
- Before you can get a center of gravity calculation for equipment in CADWorx Plant, you must have a material set for the equipment, and then you must run EQUIPCG.
When selecting equipment to calculate the center of gravity, you have the following choices:
- Select all.
- Zoom to the small white cross and select it.
Select the components, and then press ENTER.
- The center of gravity calculates and the Total CG Calculation dialog box redisplays with the selected component counters in the corresponding boxes.
- Click OK.
